Founded in 1869, St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, New York is part of St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP), Trinity Health’s regional network and one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit Catholic healthcare systems. St. Peter’s Women’s and Children’s Center is home to the Capital Region’s only Level III NICU, delivering more than 3,000 babies each year with nine birthing rooms and 24/7 obstetric anesthesia services. It is a cornerstone of maternal and newborn care for families throughout the greater Albany area.
Obtelecare has partnered with SPHP’s employed maternal-fetal medicine practice to provide inpatient MFM coverage on weekends and holidays, closing a gap that many programs with strong weekday teams still face. When high-risk moms present outside of regular hours, timely access to subspecialty expertise should not depend on the day of the week. This partnership helps ensure it does not have to.
By extending MFM availability through inpatient call coverage, Obtelecare will support St. Peter’s care teams in maintaining continuity across every shift, strengthening the connection between the hospital’s MFM specialists and the clinicians and patients who rely on them. The result is a more resilient program, broader access to high-risk consultation, and fewer moments where coverage gaps create unnecessary clinical or operational risk.
