Obtelecare announces the launch of a new teleMFM program at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, California. The program was implemented in just 105 days, expanding access to maternal-fetal medicine services for patients across Kern County.

Bakersfield Memorial Hospital is recognized throughout the community for its comprehensive maternity services, including a specialized Family Birthing Center supported by OBHG clinicians in-house 24/7. With the addition of Obtelecare’s maternal-fetal medicine services, the hospital is further enhancing its ability to deliver coordinated, high-quality care for patients with complex pregnancies.

As an existing OBHG partner hospital, Bakersfield Memorial Hospital collaborated with Obtelecare to integrate teleMFM services into its current care model. The program provides 24/7 inpatient teleMFM coverage across Labor & Delivery and the OBED, ensuring timely access to board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialists and strengthening support for both patients and care teams.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to specialized care and supporting hospitals in delivering consistent, high-quality maternal services. By combining on-site obstetric hospitalist coverage with virtual MFM expertise, the program enhances clinical capabilities while maintaining continuity of care.

Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, a member of Dignity Health and CommonSpirit, has served the community since 1956 and offers a full range of services, including advanced maternity care and a NICU. Obtelecare looks forward to a strong partnership with Bakersfield Memorial Hospital and to supporting high-risk patients and care teams throughout the region.
