As rates of high-risk pregnancies continue to rise, the demand for maternal-fetal medicine specialists is growing faster than the available workforce. The result is a widening gap in access to specialty care—particularly in rural and underserved areas—where timely access to an MFM specialist can make a critical difference for mothers and babies.
